Born in 1975 in the city of Tabriz, Iran, in a calligraphers family - two of his uncles and one of his cousins are calligraphy artists- he had great passion to this form of art ever since he started reading and writing as early as age six. His father was his first Nastaliq calligraphy teacher and his two uncles and cousin encouraged and guided him to study the principles of this beautiful art and practice.

After a few years of self-study, in 1992 he attended master Beyzaavi’s calligraphy classes in Iranian Calligraphers’ Society where he worked on his instinctive calligraphy talent under a great calligraphy master’s supervision. He received certificate of accomplishment from this society and has been a member of this organization since 1992. Art exhibition, research, and teaching Nastaliq calligraphy became his major interests since then.

His devotion to the art of Persian calligraphy encouraged him to establish Nastaliq.co.uk and online Nastaliq calligraphy classes for the first time to introduce and promote this unique form of art to the art lovers from all over the world.
